The slides below belong to a number of different slide decks I prepared for the Dean of the  College of Arts & Sciences at Cornell on the topic of faculty excellence, initiatives, research, and grants.
The Slides at-a-Glance
Strategic Priorities
Originally a still slide, the graphic sought to visualize the strategic connections between various programs and initiatives in the College of Arts & Sciences. When included in a second slide deck, I added a shade to part of the page to emphasize the Faculty Renewal & Support section. The shade faded in as the speaker honed in on the topic of faculty support.
I created the diagram in Illustrator, exporting the net and the text as separate SVG files and put everything together in PowerPoint.
Faculty Statistics
This infographic showcases faculty hiring statistics. The vector art recreates a familiar campus scene, with the statue of Ezra Cornell (left, foreground) facing the statue of A.D. White and the building where the dean's office is located. I created the individual vectors in Illustrator, but brought everything together in PowerPoint through the magic of SVG files.

New Frontier Grants Topics
In the slide above I needed to integrate visually a broad range of topics, from "novel musical instrument design" to quantum computing, without having any additional information on the projects to work with. With the Underground Railroad project in the mix, the treatment needed a certain kind of seriousness, without being overbearing. I went with a negative space play on the urban/rural divide with a map of the Underground Railroad as the silhouette of a city, while leaving room for the more abstract patterns of sound waves and coding in the background. We also needed to stay with the bullet points in case new lines of text needed to be added just before the presentation.
